Golfers of any handicap can play golf in Mittersill, in the heart of the Hohe Tauern National Park. The flat 18-hole golf course is in a beautiful location, surrounded by glaciers, waterfalls, pastures, mountain lodges and restaurants that serve regional cuisine. The golf hotel near the golf facility is run by golf enthusiasts and boasts its own beer brewery and fishing area. The Hohe Tauern National Park is the largest natural reserve in Austria and in all of the Alps. Some of Austria’s highest summits are located in the central area of the park, including the Großglockner (3798 m) and the Großvenediger (3662 m). On a hike from the valley to one of these summits you will pass through all climate zones from a Central European to an Arctic climate.
This golfing region offers a rich choice of golf opportunities. In addition to the Nationalpark Hohe Tauern GC in Mittersill, another seven 18-hole golf courses in the province of Salzburg and ten golf courses in Tyrol can be reached within an hour of driving.
