The Hintersteiner See is a 36 metre deep, enchanting mountain lake in the middle of the Wilder Kaiser nature reserve. Here you can enjoy a short hike along the southern shore or take a break at the natural lido on the northern shore. Lake Hintersteiner See is considered the most beautiful and cleanest natural bathing lake in Tyrol.

Gorges and waterways around the Kaiser Mountains

Water plays a major role in the Wilder Kaiser golf region.

The spring water that comes out of the tap everywhere is very high quality and healthy. The many gorges, ravines and waterfalls are refreshing places, even on hot summer days. Many stories and legends surround these places. For example, Teufelsgasse in Kirchdorf is a great insider tip for adults and families. The Griesbachklamm gorge, a very popular excursion destination, leads through a wild and romantic gorge, over footbridges and suspension bridges. And the Sintersbach waterfall is a real powerhouse, offering an impressive natural spectacle, especially during the rapid melt.
